Be Not Afraid
Daily Devotions for Lent 2025
“No I won`t be
afraid
Oh, I won`t be afraid
Just as long as you stand
Stand by me”*
Someone taking your hand, walking you through the dark, stirs a very basic emotion. That touch is reassuring, comforting, loving. “I am here for you.”
We felt that as a child when a loved one helped us; we feel that as adults, responding to that need to not be afraid. In today`s world, there are many reasons to feel afraid.
Our faith tells us there is someone else who consoles us, soothes us in times of trial. “I am with you always,” Jesus told the apostles, “until the end of the age.” How reassuring a statement. Christ is our past, our present, our future. While some support may ebb and flow, the support of Jesus is always there, no matter what.
In these pages, Reformation members of all ages share their stories of faith in the face of fear. We thank these writers for their time and talents. We could not do this book without them. We also appreciate the theological guidance of Pastor Ralen Robinson and the time and efforts of these people:
