So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”
THE LORD IS WITH ME ALWAYS
God has helped a lot of people when they were afraid, me being one of them.
Two years ago, I tried out for my first club baseball team. I had only ever played baseball for the rec teams, so I was nervous and afraid of what would happen. I was not sure if I was good enough to make the team or earn a spot in the lineup. I practiced with my dad in the front yard and listened to my coaches as they helped to prepare me for tryouts.
After a lot of hours of practice and preparation, it was time for tryouts. As I went to the tryouts, I felt anxious and stressed. However, I knew I was not alone. My coaches were cheering me on, my dad was there to support me, and I knew, no matter the outcome, I was not alone.
That is what this Bible verse means to me. The Lord was my helper by placing positive, caring people in my life. I could say with confidence that the presence of loved ones comforted me, and I was no longer afraid of being alone. I did make the team, and I thank the Lord for all the love he has shown me.
Dear Lord, thank you for helping me and making me no longer afraid. With you, I know I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Amen
