Wednesday, April 2 Mark 6:50
For they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”
IN THE STORM, CHRIST IS WITH YOU
Jesus is with us in the middle of a storm. In the middle of life`s trials and tribulations, when the waves of problems threaten to engulf us, God meets us right smack dab in the middle of the storm. Right before we give up, feel overwhelmed and drown, God pulls us through and shields us.
God comfortingly and lovingly says, “Do not be afraid.” Do not be dismayed by the difficulties of life. Do not be fearful of what is to come and stand in complacency; that is, do not become stagnant or resigned to your circumstances. Do not let fear grip you. Do not lose sight of your faith.
The beauty of the text and the holy reminder is that God does not abandon us when it`s too hard. When life becomes too much and we feel like we are suffocating, God is there, breathing life into us. God is there that much more, cradling us into comfort. This is a message to us all that we are not alone in every moment of our lives. That faith in the face of adversity allows us to have a deeper connection to God. Because when we recognize his presence, we are equipped to let go and allow God to calm our fears.
If you call out to God in these moments and trust God`s desires to help you, your faith will enable you to be brought through. Our trust in God allows us to receive help that comes in unexpected ways. So, do not fear the storms of life. Christ will meet you in the storm, keep you and envelop you in his arms.
Generous God, thank you for being with us in all things, at all times. Amen
