Read John 8:1-11

Jesus straightened up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, sir." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again." (vv. 10-11)

DIVINE ACCEPTANCE

Just as I am. How wonderful life would be if we all could accept and be accepted by each other as ourselves... if no one looked down on anyone because of actions or beliefs... if no one cared about anyone’s skin color or political preference. Thankfully for us, life is wonderful because God does accept us, just as we are.

In today’s text, Jesus shows his love by not condemning the woman for her sins. He shows his acceptance of the Pharisees by not chastising them for testing him.

His actions set a true example for all to follow. At times when we might feel superior to others, we need to remember that just as Jesus accepts us unconditionally for who we are, we need to accept others in the same way.

Heavenly Father, I pray that you help us to accept each other just as we are, and that you open our hearts that we may live the example you show us daily of accepting others for themselves. Thank you,

O Lord, for not condemning us for our sins.
