Reflecting on Lent

He (God) has told you, human one, what is good and what the Lord requires from you – to do justice, embrace faithful love, and walk humbly with your God! Micah 6:8.

I have read so many Bible verses in my daily devotions and in my Crossways Bible Study that I was sure I could choose one to use as a foundation for writing something inspirational for Lent. I never could decide on one, so I decided to write about what Lent means to me.

Lent is a time for me to reflect on my life and to center on God. How do I do this? I give up TV or Netflix and maybe reading mystery books for Lent. I usually start reading a devotional book, one that gives me some inspiration to pray or journal about God. Giving up things at Lent is sometimes a freeing feeling, taking temptation away and opening up time to focus on God. It is a time of cleansing and peace for me.

I pray you peace this Lent.
