Be still and know that I am God
Daily Devotions for Lent 2026
Silence may be golden, but true silence doesn’t exist. Unless you happen to be in one of those special rooms scientists use for particular experiments.
No, even in the stillest of moments, you’ll hear something. A clock. The hum of the refrigerator. A light breeze. A distant noise. You are never really alone. “Be still, and know that I am God.” God is right there, in the quietest of moments and in the roar of a major city. In your loneliest moments and your liveliest celebrations, God is with you.
In these pages, Reformation members of all ages share their stories of faith and how they strive to be still and listen to God. We thank these writers for their time and talents — both longtime contributors and new members who jumped right in this year. We could not do this book without all of you. We also appreciate the theological guidance of the Rev. Dr. Ralen Robinson and the time and efforts of these people:
