Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

COMFORT

To me, this verse means even if you are going through something bad, you can get through it with the help of God.

Something in my life that was difficult and put me in a real dump was starting middle school. It was new for me and it was hard. Everything, I mean everything, in middle school is hard. It’s hard to get used to new teachers and new classmates, the expectations are higher, you have to switch classes every hour, and you have to remember your locker combination.

Even though it was hard, there were so many nice people who helped me. My teachers and friends were there to comfort me and show me that I wasn’t struggling alone. My teacher was a big help. I talked to her, and she helped me with a lot of my school work. My friend helped by telling me she felt the same way I did. Even having my brother there was nice. Everyone in my life has helped me so much to get through this year and actually find that I like school.

I think that God put those people there to comfort me. They stood in for God to help me to know that God is always with me. I have no reason to fear, for God is with me.

Dear God, thank you for putting people to be there to help us through hard times. Help us to remember that no matter what, you are always there for us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
