Romans 4:20-21 |
No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, being fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.
FAILURE IN FAITH
There is failure in faith! Having 100% trust in someone or something doesn't exist. There is doubt that lies right beneath that 100%, and why wouldn't there be? We are human and prone to fail, falter and flop.
Yet, Jesus knew that we would doubt and, in that doubt, gave himself for our sins. Christ sacrificed himself and extended grace to everyone. So when we trip along the way, we have a safety net of grace that will catch us.
The beauty of God's promise is the ability to choose; even if we choose wrong, God still chooses us.
Faith is a line we teeter along our entire life. Sometimes that line is strong, making it easy to glide across, and other times there is slack, causing it to be flimsy. There is failure in faith. Everybody fails, but it is not failure unless you give up. So try again tomorrow!
Dear Lord, thank you for choosing us, in spite of our failings. Amen
