My great thanks and appreciation is extended to the members

applied toward the last of my expenses here at LSTC. I have also recently received the

Relay for Life Event Planned
RELAY FOR LIFE is a team effort to raise awareness of
cancer in our community and a way to raise money for the American Cancer Society to (1)
fund research to find a cure, (2) help prevent cancer through education, (3) support
legislation to reduce cancers impact, and (4) assist cancer patients and their
families. The RELAY itself is a 12-hour overnight event. Each team has 8 to 15 members, of
which one must be walking at all times during that 12-hour period.
Hunter, Heather, Steve & Barbara Borg and Ron & Carol Ott are part of a team
that will be participating in the RELAY FOR LIFE on June 27 & 28. Other
team members are Janice Steffen, Julie & Nate Regier, and Sara & Freemont Regier.
The first lap of the relay at 7:00 p.m. honors all of the survivors. At 10:00 p.m.
luminaries that have been purchased in honor or memory of a cancer patient are lit.
More than just a fund-raiser, the RELAY FOR LIFE brings our community together to
celebrate those who have survived cancer . . . and to remember those who have not. Look
for one of the Borgs or Otts in the narthex after services on June 15 if you
wish to make a donation for the RELAY or to purchase a luminary at $10.00 each.

and will be a "Companion Synod" guest speaker at our Synod Assembly. You are

S.C.U.B.A.
(Super Cool Undersea Bible Adventure)
Grab your goggles and your swim fins and get ready to dive
into Vacation Bible School. This summers theme is S.C.U.B.A. (Super Cool
Undersea Bible Adventure). VBS is scheduled to take place Sunday through Thursday, July
27-31, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Watch for details on registration.
We are looking for swimmers and non-swimmers from the ages of 3 years through 5th grade
(as of next fall) to join us for this undersea adventure. There will be lots of singing,
games, skits, Bible adventures, and of course, treats. Come join us for plenty of fun and
fellowship.
We are also looking for volunteers. If your child will be attending VBS, plan to stay

fun. There are several opportunities that anyone can choose to help in. We have no age
limits for volunteers. We need singers, actors, chefs, secretaries, fitness experts, and
teachersjust to name a few. Come experience S.C.U.B.A. with our children at
