Ministries - Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is an important outreach ministry of our congregation.

A Stephen Minister is a caring lay person who gives one-to-one Christian care to persons facing stressful life changes. This caring Christian friend offers a listening ear to hear problems and concerns, and brings emotional and spiritual support and encouragement to help work through these problems. Stephen Ministers are prepared for their caring ministry with 50 hours of training and are commissioned by the Pastor.

Three newly trained Stephen Minister were commissioned in February 2011 and will be joining our other Stephen Ministers at Reformation as they apply their care giving skills to those who are making that long journey through the valley of life crisis.

Anyone who is interested in attending our continuing education seminars can participate on the following dates at 7:00 pm.

  • November 14 - Simone Khan, RN, BSN, of Patient Advocates of Wichita, LLD, will present "Why Patient Advocacy?"
  • January 9 - Connie Mansow, Central Plains Agency on Aging will present "Caregiver Chats and Resources in Community Care Giving."
