Read 1 Corinthians 13 |

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to
face.” |

WHEN THE MORNING DAWNS
Think about the dimness if you were to walk around having
forgotten your glasses, the frustration of not being able to focus
and see clearly, until finally you realize that your glasses are
still on the nightstand. It is amazing how clearly you see the
surroundings when you put on the glasses.
So it is with the understanding of God and his ways. We pray, we
study, trying to discern what God wants us to do with our lives, how
we can be a witness to his great love for us. How comforting it is
to know that our understanding will go from darkness to light when
he comes again. In the meantime, we need to continue to pray for
guidance and inspiration to better understand the scriptures and
live out the commandments by being examples of God’s love in the
world, reaching out to our communities and doing what Jesus asked us
to do: offering a glass of water in his name (Matthew 10:42). We
need to remember the greatest commandment as found in Matthew
22:37-39: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest
commandment and the second is like it: Love your neighbor as
yourself. On these two
commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Thank you, Lord, for the gifts of faith, hope and love. Help us
to spread your love around as we go about our daily lives. Amen
