Reformation Lutheran Church has published a Lenten devotional
booklet since 1990. It has become a ministry and outreach to many
people throughout our community, across the country and over the
Internet. Printed copies are distributed to members and friends of
Reformation Lutheran Church. Devotionals are also available to on-line
subscribers.
This is not a professional publication written by professional
writers. It is an expression of faith and witness by a few people who
are willing to give of their time and of themselves to share in this
ministry. Writers are given a theme and verse, which they reflect upon
to share their words of faith and testimony with readers. This is not
an easy task, but they do it out of love and faith.
Our thanks to all our writers. Special thanks go to our former
editor and coordinator Dallas Cronk, for selecting the texts for
meditation and assisting as coordinator adviser; to Marcia Werts for
editing; to Lori East for the cover design; to Pastor Tom Hallstrom
for his support and theological expertise; to Michon Weingartner for
title page design; to Tom Cronk and Dave Mueller for coordinating the
printing; and to Mark Yeskie, webmaster.
Except where noted, all daily devotional verses have been drawn
from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.
It is my prayer that this Lenten Devotional will inspire you
through stories and testimonies to reflect on God’s word, open your
heart to his message, and strengthen your faith.
