Read Psalm 139

If I take the wings of the morning and settle at the farthest limits of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me and your right hand shall hold me fast.  If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me and the light around me become night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as day, for darkness is as light to you.

THE LORD IS NEAR

In times of trial and tribulation, we sometimes forget that God is with us.  We get discouraged and fall into despair.  But we read in Psalms 139 verse 11:  “If I try to hide in darkness, the night becomes light around me.”  God is always with us, even in our deepest troubles.  The poem Footprints in the Sand is another reminder that when we see only one set of prints, it is because God is carrying us, not just walking beside us.

God our Heavenly Father has created us and given us life.  God knows all about us, our faults and failures.  “In your Book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed.”  God has given us the ability of choice.  We can choose to walk away and wallow in our issues, or we can choose to let God fill our hearts.  God is always with us no matter what decisions we make.

Many have shared with me that when they were facing something that seemed larger than life --  loosing a job, loosing a loved one, having to relocate, being on their own, changing careers --  they were able to do all these things once they gave their issues to Christ.  God is always with us and leads us along the path of everlasting life.

Heavenly Father, watch over us and be with us.  Let your light shine upon us.  Guide us to do your will, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
