March 23, 2004	Read Matthew 5: 9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
THE VISION IS CLEAR This one verse should become a Vision Statement for every person of every land.  It has become trendy in corporate America for businesses to develop Vision Statements designed to inspire employees and  promote ideas that all can agree on.  These statements help bring focus when the daily grind makes it hard to keep perspective.  They are not only for the top executives, but also for every employee all the way down the job position ladder.  It seems to me that this verse could be used to inspire people in every situation, no matter how big or small. Peacemakers are certainly needed in a global society.  Children of God need to unite all around the world and spread the message of peace for mankind.  Even in times of violence, it is easy to see those people who stand out as peacemakers.  It seems like such an easy concept to promote.  Peace rather than violence just make sense.  Yet our world, our country, our state, and our city are filled with examples of violence every day.  That is why it is so important that our leaders and others who have voice are indeed children of God.  Peacemakers are also needed and play a big role in our day-to-day lives.  From our schools to our churches and even to our own families, peacemakers lead us down the right paths.  They come in a variety of different people we associate with in our daily life.  I think most of the time we don’t even know they play this very important role.  They only become apparent when situations arise that could lead to chaos. It is in those moments that these children of God bless us with examples of the right things to do. Let us Pray:  God, blessed are the peacemakers.  Thank you for your Good News of hope and the Great Blessings you have given us.  Help us to live in peace and harmony and help each of us to be one of your peacemakers.  MARK HANSEN
