"Feed my
lambs."
Jesus is teaching us to care for the young, the ill, the old, all those
who could use a little extra help along the way.
To "feed my lambs" at Reformation, you might consider our
many youth programs. Become a Christian Ed teacher or helper. Volunteer to support the
kids in the Wednesday LOGOS program. Sign up when plans are announced for the Vacation
Bible School. Or just ask Deaconess Doreen some Sunday: "How can I help feed the
lambs?"
Here’s another approach, guaranteed to produce a special smile.
Watch the church newsletter for the list of upcoming youth birthdays. Make up a hand
lettered card, decorated with your own artwork, and pass it along some Sunday.
The best rewards of my life have come from helping others. Don’t
be stingy in earning these rewards for yourself.
A seven year old once shared this wisdom with me:
"You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you
mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
