Luke 9:18-20 |
Who Am I? |
He said to them,
"But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said, "The Christ of
God."
Who do I say Jesus is? In this new year, 2001 A.D., how shall I answer
that question?
My spoken answer:
He is God incarnate, who died and rose again, that we, though sinful
and unworthy, by his loving and amazing grace, might have life abundant and eternal.
May the answer of my life be:
- To the hungry person: Here, beloved of my Lord, accept this food ... in the name
of Jesus.
- To the thirsty person: Here, beloved of my Lord, accept this cup of cool water
... in the name of Jesus.
- To the stranger: Here, beloved of my Lord, accept the hand of hospitality and
friendship that I hold out to you ... in the name of Jesus.
- To the person shivering and cold because she lacks adequate clothing: Here,
beloved of my Lord, accept these warm clothes ... in the name of Jesus.
- To the person suffering from illness or injury: Here, beloved of my Lord, accept
my comfort and help ... in the name of Jesus.
- To the person in prison: Here, beloved of my Lord, I visit you and befriend you
... in the name of Jesus.
- To the scoffer: Let me introduce you to my Lord, Jesus Christ, whom to know is
life eternal and abundant.
- To the lost and fearful: Bring your concerns and your fears to my Lord, Jesus
Christ. He loves you and cares for you. He offers to you himself.
- To the little child: Dear little one, Jesus loves you, and so do I.
Who do I say that Jesus is?
Prayer: Lord grant that my attitudes, thoughts, words and actions will
clearly and consistently say, "Jesus is my LORD, my LIFE, my ALL." AMEN! |
