Mark 8: 31-33

Even When We Think He's Not!

Many a time I find myself, when in trouble, turning to Matthew chapter 16 verse 23. In this passage Jesus Says to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are in my way because you think like everyone else and not like God." What is this telling us? When I read this it reminds me that God put Satan on earth. He is everywhere, always tempting us, always trying to make us do wrong. We always need to look behind us, knowing that temptation is out there, yet also knowing that God is there with us, guiding us every step of the way. God loves us and would never let harm come to us. He is always by our side, and with him there, we can truly tell Satan to get behind us and not to get in our way.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you so much for all you have given to us. For the knowledge that through you we will never be overcome by Satan. Thank you for being with us and allowing us to know temptation and to keep away from it. Thank you for being by our side and always keeping us on your path, the path to righteousness.
