Reformation Lutheran 1997 Lenten Devotional - Number 30
March 13, 1997. Today's Bible verse is Hebrews 11: 17-40, 12: 1-6
Faith
We are all tested through out all life but by faith
we are saved. The hardest thing in life is to give everything
over to God. God will not let us suffer more then we can handle.
Sometimes it seems we can't take anymore that when we give it
to God and he handles it for us and shows us the way. By faith
Abraham knew God's promises and he would keep Isaac, by faith
Moses was kept alive and became the leader of God's people to
lead them out of Egypt. Jesus was sent by God to endure life's
experiences and he dealt gently with the people, healed the sick
and the poor, prayed for the suffering, and obeyed the will of
God to love unconditionally even to the cross.
We all should live by faith. It is so simple, and
yet so hard to do. Trust the Lord and live by faith turning it
over to God. Then we can truly grow in our love for all people
and in service to God.
Prayer: Dear
God, thank you for the holy Bible that we may learn how to put
our lives all in your hands. Thank you Lord for Jesus your son
who loves us so much he gave his life for all. Help us grow in
faith that we may serve all your peoples. Amen.
